Mini Halloween Glass Mosaic Tile Assortment 10MV Half-Pound (8oz)

The Halloween Tile Mini Mix is a half-pound mix of 3/8-inch vitreous glass tile in black, orange, white, and yellow. This curated assortment contains color numbers 1, 49, 91, and 95 of our Morjo Vitreous minis.

These tiles are vitreous glass, but the colors chosen have a solid pigment density. As a result, these tiles have great clarity and opacity. The grooved side bonds adhesive more securely and also makes for easier cutting. Competitively priced yet suitable for fine art, they are also UV resistant and factory certified for commercial exteriors, swimming pools, backsplashes, showers, murals, as well as art-&-craft projects like mosaic stepping stones. For an organized design you can set aside and rework, use a mounting grid.

Mini Halloween Glass Mosaic Tile Assortment 10MV 8oz

  • tile size: 3/8 inch (10mm)
  • thickness: 1/8 nominal (4mm)
  • sales unit: 1/2 pound (~approximately 325 pieces)
  • material: vitreous glass
  • pigments: colorfast, UV resistant
  • durability: frost-proof, impervious to liquid
  • usage: suitable for indoor and outdoor use

Coverage

Each half-pound bag will cover approximately .45 square feet assuming a standard grout gap of approximately 1/32 inch. Most Mosaic Mounting Paper is 1.15 square feet and requires 841 tiles (29 tiles x 29 tiles). Use our tile estimator to calculate how much you need for your project.

Compatibility

Tile thickness is 1/8 inch nominal, the same as most of the glass mosaic tile we sell, which means that these can mix and match with other types and brands.

Cutting Glass Tile

We recommend the Mosaic Glass Cutter for cutting all types of glass mosaic tile including these. Note, however, that there is a limit to how small they can be cut. Due to their tapered edges, small pieces will tend to tip over. We advise cutting halves, quarters, and diagonal triangles, and not much smaller than that. For creating outlines and other details, check out our Rectangle Border Tiles or our Outliners Mosaic Sticks.

Mounting Tiles

Weldbond adhesive works well for mounting dry indoor mosaics. However, for outdoor and wet mosaics, use thinset mortar.

Imitation Gold Mosaic Tile BULK SALVAGE Mix 1 Pound

Imitation Gold Bulk Salvage Glass Tile Mix

Imitation Gold Tile Bulk Salvage Mix 1 Pound

This salvage assortment includes 1 pound of imitation gold tile strips and loose pieces. As a salvage product, incidental damage such as chipped corners and scratches may be present. You can sample a variety of all our imitation gold tile products with this versatile mix. Limited quantity!

Salvaged Material Included:

  • Imitation Gold Mosaic Tile WAVY 10mm
  • Imitation Gold Mosaic Tile WAVY 20mm
  • Imitation Gold Mosaic Tile SMOOTH 10mm
  • Imitation Gold Mosaic Tile SMOOTH 20mm

CAUTION: Sharp Edges and Slivers May Be Present

Imitation Gold Mosaic Glass tile is SILVER (Ag) alloy leaf fused under hand-cut glass mounted on removable clear film. These are what some competitors are selling as real gold mosaic (shame, shame), but they are great for what they are: a beautiful and economical alternative to real gold mosaic.

These are hand-cut tiles, but they are fairly square and uniform for the most part, although some are slightly irregular in shape. Note that the backs are coated with a yellow epoxy to inhibit oxidation from tarnishing the silver foil.

Imitation Gold Tile Bulk Salvage Mix

  • tile size: 3/8 inch (10mm) and 3/4 inch (20mm)
  • thickness: 1/8 nominal (4mm)
  • sales unit: 1 lb mix of strips and loose tiles
  • material: glass fused over SILVER alloy leaf
  • variety: molded tile
  • colorfast, UV resistant
  • durability: frost-proof, impervious to liquid
  • usage: suitable for indoor and outdoor use

Compatibility

These tiles mix well with most brands of 3/8 inch mosaic tile because their thickness is 1/8 inch nominal (4mm), which is a common industry standard. BUT, keep in mind that these hand-cut tiles do not have beveled edges like molded tile, which means they will not fit into mounting grids as deeply as the molded tile.

Cutting Imitation Gold Mosaic Glass

Cut Imitation Gold Mosaic Glass into halves, quarters, triangles and irregular shapes using our Mosaic Glass Cutter.

Use in Mosaic Art

These make an attractive and affordable alternative to real gold.

Colored Glass Mirror Tile BULK SALVAGE Rainbow Mix 1 Pound

Colored Mirror Tile Bulk Salvage Rainbow Mix

Colored Glass Mirror Tile Bulk Salvage Mix is a 1-lb rainbow mix of salvaged 15mm colored glass tile strips and loose tile. These are salvaged scrap pieces that may have chipped corners or minor scratches. Use this vivid and vibrant reflective tile assortment to create decorative accents and borders, or incorporate into mixed media projects. Limited quantity!

We also have bulk strips of individual colors.

Colored Glass Mirror Tile Bulk Salvage Mix

  • tile size: 9/16 inch (15mm)
  • thickness: 1/8 nominal (4mm)
  • sales unit: 1 lb, approximately 200 tiles
  • material: glass
  • variety: translucent colored glass with slight ripples and bubbles in the surface for an artistic look
  • pigments: colorfast, UV resistant
  • durability: impervious to liquid

Advantages of Our Colored Glass Tile

Colored Glass Mirror Tile 15mm is high-quality tile suitable for architectural installation indoors and outdoors. Unlike the cheap crafting tiles sold by our competitors, the silver is more securely bonded into the back side of the glass, and the glass itself is actually pigmented. (Exceptions: Gilt, Metallic, Brass, etc., where the metallic color comes from the alloy of silver on the back). Surface coatings on competitors’ products scratch easily off of their cheap clear glass. The foil on their product also comes off the glass when cutting the tiles. Not so with our mirror tile. You can cut them with confidence. Read our warning about the inferior mirror tile sold by competitors.

Limitations of Use

Due to a lack of long-term test data, we do not advise the use of colored mirror tile in swimming pool installations. (Use in pools would be at customer risk and require best practices for grouting and sealing).

  • Install INDOORS for longest life.
  • OUTDOOR use should be ok, but avoid high chlorine and sulfur environments and cleaning with acid.
  • Product has been tested in UV sunlight and installed in low and high temperature locations with no problems observed to date.
  • Avoid using mounting mesh.
  • Avoid using in environments high in chlorine or sulfur.
  • Our opinion is that these could last a long time in an outdoor mosaic patio table if thoroughly sealed, but these are a new product and aging over years and decades is unknown.

Compatibility

Because these tiles have the same thickness as most of the glass tile we sell (1/8 inch nominal), they can mix with other types and brands.

Cutting Colored Glass Mirror Tile

We recommend using the wheel-blade Mosaic Glass Cutter we sell to cut these and other types of glass mosaic tile. Unlike cheaply made competitors’ mirror tiles, cutting these tiles will not cause the silver to fall of the glass.

Use of Colored Glass in Mosaic Art

These mirror tiles have a waviness in the glass and silver which make the reflections distorted compared to a normal flat mirror tile. The purpose of the mirror in these tiles is to reflect light rather than to form distinct images.

Morjo™ Glass Symbol Tiles

Glass Symbol Tiles_collage

Glass Symbol Tiles by MORJO are sold loose in bags of 8.8 ounces (approximately 90+ pieces), which covers slightly under 1/3 of a square foot with a standard grout gap of 1/16 inch. Each bag contains a mix of HEART, MOON, STAR, and BUTTERFLY tiles.

These tiles have a glossy finish, and the glass has solid color throughout (and not just on the tops or bottoms.) These tiles are opaque, hard, durable, and UV-resistant. Note that the color palette is different from 12mm and 8mm Morjo because these are made in a different factory.

Morjo Glass Symbol Tiles

  • tile shapes: heart, moon, star, butterfly
  • tile size: varies by shape
  • thickness: 4mm
  • sales unit: 8.8 ounces loose tile (about 90+ pieces).
  • material: glass
  • variety: recycled glass
  • pigments: colorfast, UV resistant
  • durability: frost-proof, impervious to liquid
  • usage: suitable for indoor and outdoor use

Coverage

Each 1/2-pound bag of about 90+ tiles covers almost 1/3 of a square foot assuming a standard grout gap of 1/16 inch. Use our tile estimator to calculate how much you need for your grouted project.

Grout Gap?

Note that dry indoor mosaics do not have to be grouted (and thus you can simply mount the tiles tightly together), but outdoor and wet mosaics must have grout to prevent water from penetrating behind the tiles. The best way to ensure that the gaps between the tiles is to leave a 1/16-inch gap instead of pressing them tightly together, and this point seems counterintuitive to some people. Consider this: you can never mount them so closely together that water can’t penetrate it, but you can accidentally put them so close that grout doesn’t get adequately pressed into the crack during the grouting process.

Cutting Morjo Glass Symbol Tiles

The MORJO brand cuts like butter into tiny pieces using a pair of Mosaic Glass Cutters.

Morjo™ Polygon Glass Mosaic Tiles

glass-polygon-mosaic-tiles-banner

Morjo Polygon Glass Mosaic Tiles are mixed polygon shaped recycled glass tiles with a vibrant opaque color range. They ship in bags of 8.8 ounces (approximately 120-ish pieces), which covers slightly under 1/3 of a square foot with a standard grout gap of 1/16 inch. Each bag contains an assortment of polygon shapes.

Recycled glass is a homogeneous material made by fusing powdered glass. It has solid and consistent color all the way through and cuts cleanly and predictably using the Wheel-bladed Mosaic Glass Cutter. Hard, durable, and UV-resistant, it is suitable for commercial exteriors and murals.

Morjo Polygon Glass Mosaic Tiles

  • tile shapes: assorted polygons
  • tile size: varies by shape
  • thickness: 4mm
  • sales unit: 8.8 ounces loose tile (about 120-ish pieces).
  • material: glass
  • variety: recycled glass
  • pigments: colorfast, UV resistant
  • durability: frost-proof, impervious to liquid
  • usage: suitable for indoor and outdoor use

Coverage

Each 1/2-pound bag of about 120+ tiles covers almost 1/3 of a square foot assuming a standard grout gap of 1/16 inch. Use our tile estimator to calculate how much you need for your grouted project.

Compatibility

Like most of the glass tile we sell, polygons have a nominal thickness of 1/8 inch (4mm).

Grout Gap?

Note that dry indoor mosaics do not require grouting, and so for those you can simply mount the tiles tightly together. On the other hand, wet and outdoor mosaics must have grout to prevent water from penetrating behind the tiles. For those, leaving a 1/16-inch gap allows enough grout to adhere between the tiles.

Cutting Morjo Polygon Glass Mosaic Tiles

Morjo brand recycled glass mosaic tile cuts easily into tiny pieces using a pair of Mosaic Glass Cutters.

Polygon Tile in Mosaic Art

Use polygon tiles to create textural organic patterns similar to cracked earth, snakeskin, or tree bark, where irregular shapes are prominent. Polygon shapes can also give you a head start compared to cutting down square tiles into illustrative shapes. Our other mixed shape tiles include Irregular Ceramic and translucent Soft Glass Shapes.

Thinset Removal Tool

Thinset Removal Tool

Thinset Removal Tool is for removing WET thinset mortar from grout gaps and is used soon after tiles are mounted to a surface but not yet grouted. It is not used for removing fully hardened thinset. This tool is molded from durable polymer for long life and has gap-scraping studs for gaps of sizes 1/16 inch, 1/8 inch, 3/16 inch, and 1/4 inch.

Usage

This tool is used for removing fresh thinset from grout gaps in grids of large architectural tiles mounted using tile spacers, where the tool is quickly pulled through every row and column.

It also be used for cleaning gaps in mosaics made from small cut pieces, although dental picks or miniature spatulas might be more useful when the grout gap isn’t a grid or is variable in width.

Alternate Usage

This tool is very useful for setting or periodically checking the width of grout gaps, which are often underestimated by novices.

Thinset Removal Tool

Product Specifications:

  • material: durable high density polyurethane.
  • width: approximately 6mm.
  • scraping studs for gaps of sizes 1/16 inch, 1/8 inch, 3/16 inch, and 1/4 inch.

Economy Copper Foil for Stained Glass – 6mm (~1/4 inch) – 20 Meter Roll

Adhesive-backed copper foil can be used to make traditional stained glass art by foiling the edges of different pieces of stained glass and then soldering them together to make a beautiful design.

This foil is 6mm wide (about 1/4 of an inch) and 20 meters (about 65 feet) in length. The foil is thin and easy to fold down over the edges on your stained glass. This foil is great for opalescent stained glass like we sell, or for transparent glass when you’re going to be using copper patina when finishing your project. Our stained glass from Youghiogheny is 3mm thick, so the 6mm foil width is perfect for it.

Copper Foil

  • supply type: stained glass foil
  • copper with adhesive backing
  • 6mm wide
  • 20m roll
  • great for opalescent stained glass
  • also works with copper patina

We use traditional sanded portland-cement grouts such as made by Mapei and Custom Building Products. These products are dry and only require water and mixing. We have no experience with the epoxy and urethane products that come pre-mixed and have fumes.
