Smalti

Mud Turtle Mosaic™ brand smalti is a next-generation smalti. It looks like ordinary smalti (non-molded hand-cut rectangles), but is smoother and less brittle so that it cuts more efficiently. We have a wide range of vibrant colors and tints for a full color palette.

Smalti is traditional hand-cut mosaic glass that has a different look and feel from molded tile. Cut into rectangular pieces from a large slab, it has a more organic and rustic character than molded glass tile. This is the glass to use for reproducing antique mosaic art, icons, or making modern interpretations of classical designs. Each 1/4-lb (4 oz) contains 40+ pieces on average.
